Best Films Rewatch, a quickie update

Hello everyone! This is going to be a very quick post. If you are following along, I am about halfway through my Best Films Rewatch. From the very beginning I have added films as they have presented themselves to me. Some were forgotten "Dead Poets Society," "The Man Without a Face..." while others were attempts to fill a void left by a fallen film. "West Side Story" in lieu of "Funny Girl." "Romy And Michele's High School Reunion" and "Clue" filling the comedy slot left by "Psycho Beach Party" and "Drop Dead Gorgeous." And then there is "Doom Generation." Not sure where that fits in, but it's coming up soon and things will be a bit clearer.

As I hit the midway point Summer took hold in a wonderful way. I've been re-reading as well as re-watching and am currently on the 14th book of the "Wheel of Time" series, hoping to be done with that by the end of the week.

I am also Assistant Directing the Oxford Community Film, "Checked In" which will be shooting this Wednesday and Thursday night. All wonderful, exciting things that are keeping me from publishing.

I don't like to pronounce deadlines here on Awards Wiz...that's one of the reasons I stay independent (mostly) instead of jumping on another site's bandwagon. BUT...it's time to get moving or I won't be done by the time September comes along and I have films to watch for both Oxford Film Festival as well as the Oscars. I believe come October I will be in full Oscars swing when films such as "Beautiful Boy," "First Man," "Can You Ever Forgive Me" and "A Star is Born" come out. I will more than likely have a slew of films to catch up on by that point also. I'm already fearing that I'm not going to make it to Memphis to see "Eighth Grade" although I'm going to do my best to make that happen.

SO...expect a new piece this weekend when I look at two films that had a profound effect on me as I became an adult, but somehow blocked out when making my original list!
